Multimedia Journalism Internship Overview

The Multimedia Journalism Internship is a 12-month graduate program designed to give aspiring journalists practical experience in digital and print media. Interns will be placed at City Press or Daily Sun, gaining hands-on exposure to storytelling across multiple platforms, including social media and video.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality news and feature stories for Media24 platforms.
  • Create engaging multimedia content including videos suitable for social media.
  • Upload and manage content on various digital platforms.
  • Research and source stories relevant to target audiences.
  • Assist with newsletters, digital campaigns, and content curation.
  • Collaborate with editors and team members to deliver timely content.
  • Stay updated on current events, trends, and social media developments.

Skills and Competencies

  • Degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Languages, or Politics.
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills across multiple formats.
  • Video production skills; ability to shoot on smartphones and edit content.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat).
  • Creative thinking, ability to generate original ideas and angles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Curiosity and passion for news, current events, and digital media trends.
