Key Responsibilities

As a Library Intern, you will:

  • Assist with digitisation of library and publication resources
  • Organise, sort, and prepare materials for scanning
  • Capture and verify metadata for digital records
  • Ensure proper handling of fragile information resources
  • Support quality control processes for digitised content
  • Assist with records management and filing systems
  • Provide general support to library and publications staff

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • National Diploma in:
    • Library and Information Science OR
    • Archives and Records Management
  • Bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic understanding of library and information systems
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of digitisation processes (advantage)
  • Exposure to scanning equipment or digital repositories (beneficial)
