Job Overview (Learner)

We are seeking motivated and committed South African youth to participate in a 12-month National Certificate Learnership in Freight Handling. Learners will gain hands-on experience in logistics operations while completing structured theoretical training aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Freight Handling & Logistics Duties:

  • Load and off-load goods from vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare vehicles for trips, ensuring all safety checks are performed.
  • Receive, dispatch, and manage freight documentation.
  • Perform ancillary warehouse and transport-related duties.
  • Deliver and collect goods and stock as assigned.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and stack stock for transport.
  • Verify incoming stock against documentation.

Learning & Development:

  • Participate in structured theoretical training aligned with unit standards.
  • Gain workplace practical experience and mentorship from experienced staff.
  • Prepare for assessments and final external verification.

Requirements

  • South African citizen aged 23–35 years.
  • Grade 12, TVET N3, or NQF Level 2 qualification (minimum 40% in Maths and English).
  • Medically fit with the ability to perform physical tasks.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Numerically orientated and detail-focused.
  • Willing to work shifts and weekends.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Reside in designated Port Elizabeth areas: New Brighton, Walmer, Port Elizabeth Central, Zwide, Kwazakhele, Algoa Park, Korsten, Fairview, Lorraine, Green Bushes, Newton Park, Booysens’s Park, Shaudeville Park, Cotswald, Linton Grange, Sunridge.

Advantageous Skills:

  • Own reliable transport.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Previous work experience in logistics or warehouse operations.
