An exciting EPWP Programme employment opportunity exists at Groenkloof National Park for 2 x Skilled Environmental Monitors. This fixed-term opportunity runs until 31 March 2026 and offers the chance to contribute to South Africa’s conservation efforts while gaining valuable work experience in an environmental management setting.

As an Environmental Monitor, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards across the park’s offices and facilities while supporting stock management and environmental monitoring duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean offices, ablutions, reception areas, passages, and open spaces daily
  • Prepare boardrooms and meeting areas, including refreshments setup
  • Report maintenance issues or abnormalities and ensure timely resolution
  • Handle lost property according to standard procedures
  • Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated collection areas
  • Control cleaning materials and maintain proper stock levels
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleaning practices
  • Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels
  • Assist with stock issuing, receiving, and stock-taking
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the supervisor
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations

Minimum Requirements

Applicants for EPWP Programme must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • 1–2 years of cleaning experience (essential)
  • Experience in stock taking or stock control
  • Knowledge of First Aid and Occupational Health and Safety
  • Good hygiene and housekeeping practices
  • Punctual, neat, and responsible work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions
  • Must comply with OHS safety standards

Employment Details

  • Daily Wage: R311.00 (EPWP rate)
