The City of Ekurhuleni is seeking professional and dependable Bus Drivers to join the Bus Services Operations Depots team. If you’re a skilled and safety-conscious driver with a passion for public service, this is your chance to play a crucial role in delivering reliable transport across the metro.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10 (minimum education requirement)
  • Valid Code C, EC, or EC1 (14) driver’s license with PrDP
  • At least 1 year of experience as a bus or truck driver
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physically fit and capable of working shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Council buses safely and efficiently on designated routes
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report mechanical issues
  • Ensure that passengers pay approved fares and that the ticketing system is functioning correctly
  • Complete and submit trip journals accurately after each shift
  • Provide helpful information to commuters regarding bus schedules, fares, and ticket validity
  • Maintain discipline and order inside the bus at all times
  • Remain courteous to passengers and the public while ensuring their safety
  • Report incidents, route delays, or accidents immediately and complete relevant forms
