Internship Responsibilities
Interns will be exposed to the following functions:
Administrative & Unit Support
- Perform entry-level functional tasks for the unit
- Handle correspondence and maintain records and files
- Prepare meeting agendas and take minutes
- Assist in preparing presentations (at least one per quarter)
Reporting & Compliance Support
- Assist with data collation and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports
- Support audit preparation processes
- Provide administrative support during budgeting processes
Rotational Exposure
- Structured rotational planning to expose interns to different divisions
- Formal performance reviews at the end of each quarter
Core Competencies to Be Developed
During the internship, candidates will gain:
- Knowledge of CETA as a public entity and the broader SETA landscape
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and legislation including:
- Skills Development Act (SDA)
- Skills Development Levies Act (SDLA)
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Employment Equity and BBBEE policies
- Practical understanding of corporate governance and compliance
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following:
- ND Business Management / Project Management
- ND / BTech / Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration or Business Administration
- ND Management Assistant / Administration or equivalent
Entry Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen under 35 years old
- Have a valid South African ID
- Hold a relevant post-matric qualification
- Not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship
- Not have been previously employed
